MANUFACTURING FACILITY– SOHAR

ASAS operates a state-of-the-art Explosive Magazine and ANFO Manufacturing Facility in Sohar, designed to ensure the safe, reliable, and timely supply of explosives and accessories across Oman. The facility represents a major step in strengthening In-Country manufacturing and supply capabilities, with future expansion plans to include Emulsion Explosive Production.

ANFO MANUFACTURING PLANT

Our high-capacity ANFO Manufacturing Plant is designed to meet requirements of large-scale mining, quarrying, and infrastructure projects across Oman. The facility ensures consistent production, reliable supply, and high operational efficiency to meet nationwide project demands.

LICENSED STORAGE

We maintain a fully licensed storage to secure magazines for explosives, detonators, and blasting accessories in compliance with all regulatory requirements. These facilities are designed to ensure safe handling, proper inventory control, and uninterrupted supply operations.

STORAGE CAPACITY

Our facility has the capacity to store up to 300 tonnes of explosives and 1,300 tonnes of Ammonium Nitrate, allowing us to support major industrial and infrastructure projects efficiently. This strong storage capability ensures dependable supply for continuous project execution.

SAFETY & SECURITY

The entire facility is built to Royal Oman Police-compliant construction standards with safety as the highest priority. It is equipped with 24/7 CCTV surveillance, access control systems, fire-suppression mechanisms, and dedicated emergency-response infrastructure to maintain maximum security and operational reliability.

FURUKAWA DS 1200 DRILL RIG

The Furukawa DS 1200 Drill Rig is known for its strong performance and reliability in heavy-duty drilling operations. It supports efficient blast-hole drilling and delivers consistent results in mining and infrastructure projects.

ADDITIONAL DRILL RIGS (SANDVIK / EPIROC)

Our fleet also includes additional Sandvik and Epiroc drill rigs to support various project requirements across Oman. These machines enhance operational capacity, ensuring flexibility, timely project execution, and dependable drilling performance.

BORE HOLE TEMPERATURE PROBE

The Bore Hole Temperature Probe is used to measure the temperature inside blast holes before charging explosives. This ensures safe explosive loading conditions and helps prevent risks caused by excessive heat or unstable ground conditions.

MK 7 EXPLODER INBUILT OHM METER

The MK 7 Exploder with inbuilt Ohm Meter is designed for safe initiation and testing of electrical detonator circuits. It allows accurate resistance checking and reliable blast initiation, improving both safety and operational control.

LOGGER CUM BLASTER

The Logger Cum Blaster is used for precise blast timing, data recording, and initiation control during blasting operations. It helps improve blast accuracy, sequencing, and post-blast performance analysis.

SEISMOGRAPH

The Seismograph is used to monitor ground vibration and air overpressure generated during blasting activities. This equipment helps ensure compliance with safety regulations and protects nearby structures and sensitive zones.

VOD METER & DELAY TIMER

The VOD (Velocity of Detonation) Meter and Delay Timer are essential for measuring explosive performance and detonation timing accuracy. These tools help optimize blast design, improve fragmentation, and ensure reliable blast results.

FIXED E-DET BLASTER

The Fixed E-Det Blaster is used for safe and precise initiation of electronic detonator systems. It provides accurate blast sequencing, improved control, and enhanced safety in complex blasting operations.

OHM METER

The Ohm Meter is used to test the continuity and resistance of detonator circuits before blasting. This ensures proper circuit connections, reduces misfire risks, and supports safe blast preparation.

ANFO EXPLOSIVE

ANFO (Ammonium Nitrate Fuel Oil) is a widely used bulk explosive for mining, quarrying, and large-scale blasting operations. It offers cost-effective performance, reliable fragmentation, and efficient rock breakage in dry blast hole conditions.

EMULSION EXPLOSIVE

Emulsion Explosive is a high-performance blasting product designed for wet and challenging ground conditions. It provides excellent water resistance, strong detonation energy, and safe handling for demanding blasting applications.

TLD TRUNK LINE DELAYS

Trunk Line Delay (TLD) is used to control the timing sequence between blast holes and rows during blasting operations. It improves blast accuracy, fragmentation quality, and reduces ground vibration for safer execution.

DETONATING CORD

Detonating Cord is used to transmit detonation signals quickly and efficiently between explosives and detonators. It ensures reliable blast initiation and supports secure connection systems in complex blasting patterns.
